These are the latest tethering solutions from Ergodyne. The 3010 and 3011 Retractable Tool Lanyards. The primary motivation behind these designs was to limit the amount of snag hazards and tangles that can occur when tools are being tethered.
The next step was to deliver a feature set that was both compatible and functional with the tools being used and the jobsites they are being used in. Both models have a trigger switch that locks the cord into place, allowing the worker to do the task without constant tension on their tool.
Another unique feature, never seen before in a retractable tool lanyard, is a built-in impact indicator that exposes itself when the retractable sees 110lbs of force or greater.
The model 3010 has a 5lb capacity and is meant to be threaded onto a belt. The model 3011 has an 8lb capacity and is meant to attach with a carabiner to the body or separate anchor point.
From a durability standpoint we did not want to build a product that looks, feels and acts like a toy. It's not meant to be cute, it's meant to let you do your job and get home safe. Luckily the ANSI/ISEA 121 standard was released which weeds out any imitators. These retractable solutions were 3rd party certified to this standard. But we didn't stop there though. We built the product to withstand the jobsite as well a drop test with a lineup of durable materials.
The Squids Retractable Tool Lanyards are yet another innovation that delivers what workers desire and jobsites require. That's our goal and we're gonna keep it coming.
