To use your retractor, start by connecting your tool to the lanyard tails using the carabiner or loop connection. To exchange tools simply disconnect the modular ends of one tail and replace it with another. This modular quick connect buckle minimizes tangling that can occur from multiple lanyards. Connect the swivel end of the retractor to a secure anchor point on a structure if possible or to a secure connection point on the user's belt, harness, or tool pouch. The swiveling D-ring on the top allows you to use rotating tools without the tether pig-tailing or binding up.

After connecting, pull the retractor out to the desired length and let it back in until the internal pawl is engaged. To retract, pull out the cord a bit further using a smooth motion, then let the cord retract itself back in. Do not yank on the cord because the pawls will not disengage.
